The Morien Institute - The events of July 16th to 22nd 1994, when the remnants of a fragmenting comet, P/Shoemaker-Levy 9, bombarded the surface of Jupiter causing fireballs many times the size of our own planet, were an abrupt wake-up call even for those who were aware of them. The historical sciences generally, and archæology in particular, have collectively painted a picture of the past as if our planet stands alone in empty space. Nothing could be further from reality. Our restless planet exists in a solar system that has experienced a very dynamic history over the past 20 to 30 millennia, and it is only from this perspective that the true history of human civilisation will ever be fully understood. The events of July 16th – 22nd 1994, when the remnants of a fragmenting comet, P/Shoemaker-Levy 9, bombarded the
surface of Jupiter causing fireballs many times the size of our own planet, were an abrupt wake-up call even for those
who were aware of them. The historical sciences generally, and archæology in particular, have collectively painted
a picture of the past as if our planet ‘stands alone in empty space’. Nothing could be further from reality. Our
restless planet exists in a solar system that has had a very dynamic history over the past 20 millennia or more
and it is only from this wider solar system perspective that the true history of human civilisation can ever
be fully understood. Therefore, The Morien Institute archive contains information from many disciplines

“Twenty-First Century Grail: The Quest for

a Legend”

Andrew Collins

EU English Edition

“The recent success of blockbuster books and films with a magic or supernatural theme is at an all-time high. Those wishing to take the subject one step further have been turning to the life, writings and magic of Aleister Crowley. Once dubbed the ‘wickedest man in the world’, the famed occultist who died in 1947 is now enjoying a revival. During his life Crowley revolutionised magic and excelled as a mountaineer, poet, author, great magus, chess master and drug fiend – the last being the reason why he was adopted as an icon by the sixties hippy movement and featured on the cover of The Beatles’ Sargeant Pepper album.

More recently, in a BBC poll screened in 2002, he was voted 73rd most popular Briton of all time. His popularity has increased enough for some to want even to resurrect his soul, or at least his spirit, for he features as a rather cantankerous guide in a stunning new book by Andrew Collins – one of the UK’s leading occult authors.

Crowley’s guidance from beyond the grave becomes the inspiration behind a series of historical discoveries including new rvelations concerning the origins of the medieval Grail romance as well as the existence of a seven-pointed configuration of ancient and sacred sites in south-east England. Moreover, Crowley insists that Collins and his friends are soon to become the bearers of a Grail, only for them to find themselves guardians of what is arguably the most authentic Grail cup ever recovered – the so-called Marian Chalice. Found originally in 1917 in a cave in Shropshire, later examinations of the stone vessel revealed that it is a Roman alabaster scent jar of probably Egyptian or Near Eastern manufacture. How Collins comes to possess this vessel – identified with the alabaster vase used by Mary Magdalene to anoint Jesus before crucifiction – makes for a thrilling adventure and Crowley’s spectacular role in the quest gives it a unique and bizarre dimension.

“Biological Time”

Bernie Taylor

EU English Edition

“Biological Time presents an extraordinary hypothesis about how plants and animals are timed and the knowledge of this phenomenon by prehistoric, ancient and indigenous people. The work is supported with archeological evidence and a wide range of examples from salmon, deer, and geese to grapes.

Biological Time is for the naturalist, outdoors person, scientist and all those who wonder what clocks nature follows.

The works of art in the cave at Lascaux, France, dating back to 17,000 years ago, were solar-lunar calendars that aided Ice-Age men in knowing when and where to hunt large mammals. Ancient Mesopotamian calendars and religious rituals were used to time the opportune periods to harvest a wide range of plants and animals.

The solar-lunar calendars and ceremonies of indigenous people on the Northwest Coast of North America and in the South Pacific Islands were primarily designed to gauge when fish are most easily harvested.”
